Syra Madad, DHSc, MSc, MCP, CHEP, is an internationally recognized public health leader, biosecurity expert, and epidemiologist specializing in infectious disease preparedness and response. She serves as the Chief Biopreparedness Officer at NYC Health + Hospitals and Co-Principal Investigator of its Institute for Diseases and Disaster Management. She is a Fellow at Harvard University’s Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs, Core Faculty at The National Emerging Special Pathogens Training and Education Center, and Affiliate Faculty at Boston University’s Center for Emerging Infectious Disease Policy & Research. Dr. Madad is also the founder of Critical Health Voices, a platform amplifying frontline healthcare and public health perspectives. Recognized for her leadership, she has been named Fortune’s 40 Under 40 and Crain’s Most Notable in Healthcare.
