
Misaal Tabassum
Misaal is a senior at Yale majoring in Political Science and History. Growing up in New York City, Misaal remained strongly connected to her Pakistani background. At Yale, she has worked to build community by serving of the boards of the South Asian Society and Yalies for Pakistan, eventually serving as co-President for the latter. She has additionally interned for the Permanent Mission of Pakistan to the UN to gain a better foundational understanding of pressing issues concerning Pakistan and its role in international affairs. More broadly, Misaal is interested in building spaces for Pakistani-American voices that are often underrepresented on college campuses and elsewhere. In terms of to her professional interests, she hopes to continue to work with Pakistan in the sphere of international development and eventually law.
Misaal’s other endeavors have included serving as the Head Recruitment Coordinator at Yale Admissions, Head Advising Fellow for Matriculate (a college-advising organization), serving on the board of international Model UN conferences through the Yale International Relations Association, peer advising as a Peer Liaison for the Yale Visiting International Students Program and a First-Year Counselor, and more. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, cafe-hopping, and taking on new hobbies like juggling!
